Do you hate washing dishes? Maybe it's time for a new dishwasher?
Here are a few pointers on what you should look for...
A dishwasher has now become a standard feature in most American homes. Dishwashers range in price from very low cost models of $300 to high-end designer models of $1,500 or more.
Replacing your old unit? Make sure to call your local appliance repair shop before making the decision to replace your model. Anytime Service believes in the motto, "Repairing is recycling." Another appliance in our landfills can easily be avoided with a good dishwasher repair.
Once you have determined that you do indeed need a replacement, it’s time to start considering the type of model that will best fit your needs. Consider these factors before purchasing your next dishwasher.
Size - Standard dishwashers are designed for a family in mind and fit about 12-14 place settings. Compact units are a great alternative for small kitchens and single person homes. They typically hold 6-8 place settings.
Noise - Dishwashers have become quieter with every new design, but many low cost units still make considerable noise. Saving money might be worth a little extra background noise to you, but ask to try out the machine before you make a purchase. Maytag has some nice low-cost options but their units are known to have greater repair costs overtime.
Extra Features - Many manufactures offer convenient additions to their units. These include: dirt sensors, which add more water when appropriate, hidden control units for a more seamless design, and self-cleaning filters. Whirlpool has some great models which mix and match a lot of extra features. Repair costs for Whirlpool units are also overall lower.
The purchase of a new dishwasher is a significant household cost. Adequate maintenance and repair is important to keep your unit running as well as on the day you bought it.
